Team Nijhof

Welcome to the New Zealand website for Team Nijhof NL, providing a selection of top European stallions available for sport horse breeders based in New Zealand.
Team Nijhof is an all-round equestrian business, owned and run by the Nijhof family for over 100 years (see photo above: from left, Heartbreaker, Henk Nijhof Junior, Jeannette Benedict-Nijhof, Henk Nijhof senior). Based at Kulsdom in the Netherlands, they have a stud farm, EU-station, and a sports stable with full training facilities.

At any one time, there are about 600 horses owned by the business. This includes many Grand Prix jumping and dressage stallions, also well-bred young stallions, brood mares, and young horses at various stages of development.

All of the stallions represented in New Zealand are approved by European sport horse breed associations, primarily the Dutch KPWN, and many are also approved by Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Holstein, Selle Francais, Unire, Westphalian and others.

The stallions are bred for performance and most are out competing or, like the very famous Heartbreaker and Clinton, enjoying their retirement.

All Team Nijhof stallions have been tested WFFS (Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome) free, and come with a live foal guarantee (LFG).
